Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Reports to: AR/AP Manager

Location: Newberg, Oregon

JOB SUMMARY

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will oversee the recording and collection of customer invoices, ensuring accurate and prompt processing and payment as well as assessing the credit worthiness of new customers as well as existing customers. This role will directly support both the AR/AP manager as well as the sales team with levels of customer account management. This position will provide analytical and reporting support for the AR and Finance teams to include but not limited to account aging’s, collections efforts and status, AR department activity and information as needed in support of Sales Tax filings and audits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensures receivables are correctly processed in a timely manner.
• Ensures accurate and timely application of cash and payments received.
• Performs and manages collection activity for assigned accounts
• Addresses and corrects any discrepancies in accounts or billings.
• Conducts credit checks and provides recommendations to the manager
• Serves as a liaison between clients and clerks to negotiate acceptable payment plans with assistance from the manager
• Refers overdue accounts to collections.
• Reviews credit hold status on assigned accounts and revises as needed
• Provides or facilitates accurate reports and analysis on financial data and metrics such as intercompany, AR agings and associated account reconciliations
• Oversees and manages the 3rd party commissions process
• Assists manager with analysis of data and reports.
• Provides guidance to the AR team regarding policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Ability to be onsite as needed in support of both the finance department and the business overall
• Other duties as assigned

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, with a strong emphasis in Excel.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• At least three years of related experience preferred.

Office and travel have moderate noise levels. Machine/Product demonstrations and customer visits can have loud noise levels.
