Cleveland State University is Hiring a STEM Outreach Specialist Near Cleveland, OH
Develops innovative plans and services to support University goals of attracting and retaining an academically talented and diverse student population in STEM. Travels to high schools and community events to recruit students and develop key partnerships. Provides coordination and support for Undergraduate Admissions functions. Serves on university committees and task forces. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social work, communications, marketing, counseling, education, or related STEM field.
Five years of experience in higher education admissions recruitment or retention initiatives which includes program/event planning and facilitation.
Ability to establish rapport quickly and easily with diverse groups.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including group presentation skills.
Proficiency in use of word, database, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
Valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Ability to travel off-campus.

Master’s degree.
Experience in the sciences or in-depth knowledge of a science profession, its requirements, and careers within sciences.
Experience interacting with high school and middle school students, high school faculty and administrators.
Knowledge of STEM-related organizations and science professional organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Serves on university committees and task forces.
