JOB QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent.Valid Ohio Driver’s licenseKnowledge in HIV testing and counselingChemical dependency knowledge-basedKnowledge of Cleveland drug culturePrevious outreach experienceBilingual (Spanish-speaking) preferredAbility to lift 15-20lbs ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provides syringe exchange, disseminates HIV risk-reduction and other health education materials, educates clients, make referrals to testing sites, drug treatment programs and other social services.Provides crisis intervention services as needed. Administers HIV testing and counseling.Adheres to established safety guidelines.Documents client contacts both in individual case records and general reports Completes incident reports and activity log.Assists with orientation of new paid and volunteer staff.Assists with evaluation of program protocols and provides input to program development process.Ensures that program supplies are adequately stocked for both off-site and on-site exchange.Promotes and models the goals of the program and the mission of The Centers during outreach activities.Facilitates community awareness of the program and its services through informal interaction with community members.Contributes to departmental and organizational decision-making through active participation in the process.Works effectively and positively with co-workers, volunteers, and other departments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. It requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
