JOB:
Under immediate supervision, the Groundskeeper performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks to grounds, natural areas, equipment and facilities within parks; performs park maintenance by cleaning Park District facilities such as latrines, toilets, group-use areas; performs janitorial duties such as sweeps and mops floors, empties wastebaskets, etc.; performs landscape maintenance such as laying sod and/or mulch, mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, watering, fertilizing, weeding and spraying, digging, raking, leaf collection and picking up trash; performs routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating and cleaning of job-related vehicles, machinery, tools and equipment; meets all job safety requirements and all applicable PERRP safety standards that pertain to essential functions; demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; may be required to work extra hours, evening hours, weekends and/or holidays as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED); or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License. Must remain insurable under the Park District’s vehicle insurance policy.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Selected applicants who receive a Conditional Offer of Employment must successfully pass a criminal background check conducted by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations, a Driver’s License check conducted by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and successfully pass a drug/alcohol screening test.
Beginning Salary: $15.00 - $19.00, based on experience
