What you will do:

Technical/Operational Consultation

  • Develop and drive long range business plans, ensure a strong linkage between long term operational and commercial strategic objectives for the business.
  • Research, identify and develop business opportunities and the necessary manufacturing capability needed to deliver to new products to market; collaborate across the division to gain alignment; develop & execute project plans supporting the 3 year strategy for the PPD business.
  • Actively participate with sales, supply chain and operations in both product development and long-term capacity investment processes to ensure alignment with capabilities, customers, and market requirements to meet expected growth and financial objectives.
  • Provide insights on available capacity, manufacturing capability, and product quality to meet tomorrow's demands; establish multi-year strategies.
  • Leverage engineering technical experts with sales & marketing to identify market opportunities.

Customer Focus

  • Acts as customer advocate, able to provide operations a complete understanding of customer needs. Assists in the development of appropriate customer-related substrate and product specifications.
  • Conducts pro-active customer calls to build relationships with customers and develop an in-depth understanding of the customer's processes and substrate requirements.

Leadership

  • Foster an environment that encourages employee engagement through demonstration and modeling of Clearwater Paper's Core Values
  • Drive a culture of collaboration throughout sales, marketing, operations, and engineering across the division.
  • Enable technical sustainment plans by promoting developing and transferring knowledge across work groups.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required, Master's Degree in either Engineering or MBA strongly preferred
  • 10 years of progressive responsibility in manufacturing operations required
  • 5 years budgetary responsibilities (Project or Operating Budget)
  • Commercial experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in paper industry preferred; continuous manufacturing considered
  • Commercial leadership experience (marketing, supply chain and or sales) is a distinctive differentiator
  • Able to move seamlessly between technical and commercial discussions and stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Highly adept performing at a fast pace
  • Proficient at communicating and collaborating across multiple stakeholders
  • Confident and proficient in navigating in an automated environment with proficiency in MS Office Suite, multiple business intelligence databases
  • High speed manufacturing environment, sustained exposure to high frequency noises, multiple hours standing, walking on concrete surfaces
  • Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment.
  • Dirt, noise, odor and temperature extremes.
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing process
  • Office environment; with limited exposure to manufacturing production mill environment-hot, dusty, humid, noisy, various environmental exposures
  • Some eye fatigue due to computer use and sitting for extended periods of time
  • Travel: 33%

Total Reward Details:We're committed to providing an exceptional workplace experience, including a comprehensive total reward package. This position is eligible for our Incentive Plan. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience among other factors. Benefits are generally available after 30 days and include medical, dental, vision, life, disability coverage, employee assistance program, and a 401k plan. Paid time off will include vacation days, personal days, and company holidays.
