Pay range: $21.15 - $23.26/hour DOQ

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:
- Assist transfer station customers, collect money for Transfer Station transactions and make appropriate change when necessary, and track cash and charge receipts as required.
- Sort, bale, load, and haul materials for recycling such as: cardboard, paper, plastics, metals, glass, etc.
- Performs routine building maintenance, grounds maintenance, snow removal, and custodial work as required.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
For Transfer Station Facility –
40 Hour HAZWOPER certification, preferred, required within 3 months of hire.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Requires a level of knowledge and ability to handle all routine tasks, problems and techniques, and/or solve unusual or unique tasks with limited assistance in the full range of job duties. Such a level is generally acquired through at least one (1) year experience operating heavy and/or light equipment.

POSSIBLE HEALTH RISKS SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION:
This position has been determined to be an EXTREME exposure risk to “biohazards” associated with blood-borne pathogens HIV (aids), HAV (Hepatitis A) virus, HBV (hepatitis B) virus, and air-borne transmissions of TB (tuberculosis). Members are advised that exposure to a “biohazard” may result in severe illness or death. Members are required by Department policy to use protective equipment and clothing. Inoculation may be required to prevent or treat exposures to “biohazards”. The County provides inoculation of HAV, HBV, (Testing for TB) Chickenpox, Tdap (Tetanus, Diptheria, & Pertussis), Meningococcal, MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella), and Influenza. Some vaccinations are only required once in a life time, and you may be required to show documentation of the vaccine. Employees who decline to be vaccinated will need to sign a Declination
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK REQUIREMENTS:
Work is primarily performed in a field environment. Work includes extensive periods of walking, standing, bending, climbing, driving vehicles and equipment. There are occasions of lifting, pushing and/or pulling up to one hundred (100) pounds. Some equipment noise levels are loud, and may have open “to the elements” cab. Hearing voice conversation is essential to safe and effective job performance. Clear vision at 20 inches or less and up to 20 feet or more is required; use of corrective eyewear is acceptable. Employees in this position are exposed to a wide variety of climatic conditions such as cold, heat, wind, rain and snow and dust.
