Clayton County Public Schools is Hiring an Administrative Assistant II (Receptionist) Near Jonesboro, GA

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides administrative support to assigned departments within the Central Office:Human Resources, Business Services, etc). Assists supervisors and administrators by coordinating administrative services (answering switchboards, greeting visitors, answering general HR questions, assisting with HR processes and assignments). Acts as a liaison with internal and external contacts within the District. This position reports to the HR Director
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a full range of office assistant/receptionist duties; answers switchboard/greets visitors, makes appointments, processes necessary paperwork, prepares minutes as needed; set up and maintain filing systems; set up work procedures
Prepares and manages correspondence, reports and documents; drafts memos/letters and email in response to routine questions; take, type and distributes minutes of meetings.
Responsible for various administrative assignments for the department (employment verifications, medical leave, ID Badges, etc., arrange and confirm appointments, handles incoming mail and other materials).
All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
kEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or GED certificate required. Associate's degree preferred.
Must have 2-3 years work experience. Experience working in an office setting performing administrative duties.
Makes administrative decisions which affect internal operations of the department as well as the operations of the schools and the District.
Light independent judgment is necessary. Decisions made on an as-needed basis to establish operation of the office.
Requires regular contact with internal and external personnel within department. Verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required.
Applies, recommends and implements technology knowledge (spreadsheets, word processing, and database management) concepts to improve the effectiveness of the Department.
NOTE: This is a grade 21, 225 day position that pays for experience up to a Step 4.
