CityGate Hospitality is Hiring a Full-Time Hotel Arista Food & Beverage Manager Near Naperville, IL

Department:Food & Beverage (Zorba Cocktail Lounge, In-Room Dining, Che Figata) 
Reports to: Director of Food & Beverage Operations
Exempt Status: Exempt 
Schedule: PM, Flexible, Weekends and Evenings Required 
Role Summary: 
The Hotel Food & Beverage Manager assists in managing all Food and Beverage outlets connected to the Hotel Arista in areas of associate relations, recruitment, training, purchasing, inventory, beverage menu creation, and guest service. This individual works directly with the Director of Outlets/Che Figata General Manager to ensure the daily operation of these connected outlets run smoothly. They will ensure the success of the operation through completing daily operational tasks and maintaining visible presence on the floor during peak service hours to gather and respond to guest feedback. In addition, this individual will work with members of front of house team to develop key skills allowing them to provide the best guest experience. 
Responsibilities: 
1.Recruit, interview, hire and train food & beverage staff
2.Create a beverage training program for new associates that addresses opening and closing procedures for the bar. 
3.Proposes changes to the beverage offerings, prepares periodic beverage menu updates 
4.Interact with guests to develop loyalty and solicit feedback
5.Ensure staff is following all food and liquor control requirements
6.Ensure the property is compliant with all local liquor regulations 
7.Assist in the creation of associate schedules based on expected volume of business
8.Organize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings
9.Manage daily operation including opening and closing requirements 
10.Has a comprehensive and detailed understanding of restaurant and bar operations.
11.Assist with the creation and development of community outreach and marketing plans to penetrate new sales opportunities and maximize use within existing markets
12.Create training materials and conduct ongoing training programs for new and existing employees
13.Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline driven, demanding environment.
14.Provides service quality and consistency.
15.Coordination with the F&B, Sales, and Convention Services teams for group events
16.Organize special events in the restaurant.
17.Check for food quality and consistency.
18.Oversee all aspects of the beverage program for Zorba Lounge including inventory and purchasing. 
19.Manage all beverage storage areas and ensure they are clean and adequately stocked according to par levels
20.Maintain an inventory system that promotes liquor and cost control. 
21.Uphold all Company policies especially as they relate to liquor control in the workplace. 
22.Assist with recruiting, staffing, performance management and time management for all associates of F&B
23.Manage associate performance and conduct periodic reviews as required
24.Provide a positive, empowering, and productive work environment through setting an example and consistency of daily work habits and standards.
25.Instruct new hires and employees on the expectations and responsibilities for each of their roles.
26.Interact positively with customers promoting hotel facilities and services.
27.Maintain close and harmonious working relationships with all departments.
28.Analyze, investigate, and resolve guest complaints.
29.Fully understand all applicable emergency procedures and evacuations including fire, bomb threat, weather related instances, power failure, and injury to and illness of persons
30.Assume other responsibilities as indicated
31.Complete and present project plans and progress updates in a timely manner
32.Able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
1.College graduate or equivalent work experience.
2.Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service a plus.
3.BASSET Certification required
4.ServSafe Manager Certification required
Experience
1.3-5 years of management experience overseeing a Food & Beverage program 
2.5-10 years of experience working in Restaurants or Hotel F&B, preferably in multiple capacities 
3.Strong knowledge and background in beverage 
4.Previous experience overseeing multiple outlets is preferred
5.Previous experience working in a luxury hotel or restaurant environment is preferred 
6.Micros Simphony experience strongly preferred 
7.Knowledge of fine dining, beverage, and great service leadership.
Skills
1.Excellent verbal and written skills
2.Able to manage multiple tasks at all times and have excellent organizational skills.
3.Proficient computer skills, including Micros
4.Must be organized, self-motivated, and proactive.
5.Neat and clean appearance
6.Great enthusiasm and passion for making people happy.
7.The ability to follow through impeccably on details.
Physical Requirements
1.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular and continuing basis
2.Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
3.Able to stand for long periods of time.
