City Transformation Center is Hiring a Family Support Specialist Near Milwaukee, WI

Are you passionate about helping families in crisis? Do you have the skills and experience to support parents and children who are involved in the child welfare system? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the Supervised Visitation Worker position.

As a Family Support Specialist, you will provide services to parents and families with children in out-of-home care, using our unique trauma-informed approach.

  • You will monitor and document the parent-child interaction during supervised visits
  • You will transport children to and from visits
  • You will educate parents, provide community resources, and help parents achieve their goals for family reunification
  • You will also communicate and collaborate with various professionals, such as case managers, district attorneys, guardians ad litem, and foster parents

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least six months of prior work or volunteer experience with children and families in crisis, especially those who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations
  • A valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance
  • Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours a week, including evenings and/or weekends
