City of Republic is Hiring a Food Service Manager (Part-Time Temporary) Near Republic, MO

*Typical starting pay will be at the beginning of the advertised range, depending on qualifications.*

Primary Purpose

To ensure the safe and efficient production of all food and beverage services at The Rush – Republic Aquatic Park. Assists the leadership team with the general oversight of certain aspects of the concessions operations, policy, and procedures.

Supervision

Under the direct supervision of the Aquatic Center Supervisors and Aquatics Administrator, or as assigned.

Availability

  • Hours per week will be between 20-30 hours.

  • May be required to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

  1. Accepts food and drink orders and payments from guests, prepares exact number of items ordered, sometimes working on more than one order simultaneously, and accurately delivers all orders in a timely manner.
  2. Demonstrates a working knowledge of all applicable health, sanitation, and safety standards within assigned area at all times.
  3. Understands when and in what quantities to order more food supplies based on what is selling well. Is proactive in communicating this with the leadership team.
  4. Actively seeks opportunities to improve processes within own area of responsibility and communicates ideas to the leadership team for approval.
  5. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility, including but not limited to cleaning cooking surfaces and utensils.
  6. Investigates and resolves guest inquiries and concerns about food quality or service and communicates these situations to the leadership team as necessary.
  7. Attends and participates in all in-service training sessions as required.
  8. Deals effectively and courteously with fellow employees and the public.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Important Duties

  1. Maintains neat and orderly work area.
  2. Maintains appropriate supplies for assigned area.

Education & Experience

  • At least two (2) years of prior experience working in a customer service-related position is required.
  • At least one (1) year of prior experience working in a food-related position is strongly preferred.

Must be a self-starter who possesses initiative and urgency in their work; Must be able to effectively communicate through written and verbal skills; Must have good time management and organizational skills; Must have good cognitive and analytical skills; Must be able to handle stressful situations; Must be able to quickly assess or judge situations; Must be able to make decisions under pressure in areas of responsibility; Must have effective conflict resolution ability.

Special Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
  • Must either have a valid Missouri State Driver’s License or reliable transportation.

Physical Demands

Performs bending, squatting, crawling, twisting, kneeling, and reaching to ground level and overhead; Must be able to reach, grip and hold; Must be able to sit, walk, and stand for prolonged periods of time; Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 60 pounds.

Work Environment

Mostly outdoor working environments with exposure to dust and pollen, toxic fumes, chemicals or smoke, contagious diseases, electrical and mechanical hazards associated with equipment, extreme noise; Subject to variety of extreme weather condition; Susceptible to safety hazards associated with working in and around high traffic volume; Works in confined places and awkward positions.

Miscellaneous Requirements

  • Subject to emergency call-in.
  • Must be a dependable person due to the small size of the work force.
  • May be subject to random substance abuse testing.
