The City of Rawlins is currently seeking applications for the position of: Building Official.
Under the supervision of the Community Development Director, the Building Official is a full proficiency position which performs technical and administrative inspection work enforcing various construction, building, plumbing, zoning, nuisance and adopted International Codes and Rawlins Municipal Ordinances. The Official shall provide direct and indirect supervision and training to lower level inspectors and administrative assistant as assigned. The Official will review drawings, plans, and specifications submitted by contractors, architects and the general public.
At least 10 years of experience or equivalent as an architect, engineer, inspector, contractor, superintendent of construction, or any combination of these. Five years of supervisory experience. Should be certified as a building official through a recognized certification program. Possess, or obtain and maintain, International Building Code Certifications for Residential Building, Commercial Building and Plan Review within 6 months of appointment. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Full-time position starting at $60,814.00 (Salary Grade 30).
