AIRPORT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Aviation & Transportation Department - $1,500 Sign on Bonus Offered - Portland International Jetport -
This is a challenging position in the dynamic and fast-paced environment at Maine’s largest commercial service airport at Portland’s busy and growing small hub commercial airport. This supervisory position involves a wide variety of skills ranging from mentoring and development of personnel to the overseeing of day-to-day staff work within trades in the construction, repair, operation and maintenance of airport buildings, grounds and equipment. Requirements: Ability to successfully complete a physical assessment that measures cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, strength, endurance, hearing, color recognition and night vision; strong background in heavy equipment and construction; valid Maine Class B driver’s license; successful completion of TSA background investigation per TSR part 1542; must pass federally mandated drug test. Job duties include: Scheduling, inspecting, teaching, leading, and overseeing a team of Airport Maintenance Workers in a wide variety of Airport Maintenance functions. This position works closely with other Airport divisions to ensure work is completed both airside and landside. Qualified candidates are forward looking individuals who will learn and understand federal, state and local regulations that affect airport operations. They will be self-driven and inspire others to complete work in a safe, timely and appropriate manner. We are looking for a supportive, team-oriented individual who is capable of performing tasks both as a group member and autonomously. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check.
AFSCME Supervisor Union position – Grade 27A - Pay range starting at $1,081.60/week, plus a 2nd shift differential of $.55/hour. Generous benefit package. During training, this position is a 1st shift Monday through Friday with the final anticipated shift to 2nd, Tuesday-Saturday.
