Summary

This position is primarily responsible for the marketing and advertising of the Sandhill Crane Golf Club golf courses, practice facilities, junior and adult programs, yearly and seasonal passes, tournaments, and events.

Essential Function Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follows and implements all procedures and policies as described in the Palm Beach Gardens Golf Course Manual, as well as the Community Services Division procedures and the City’s Policies and Procedures
  • Monitors market trends, creates advertising campaigns, develops pricing strategies and targeting strategies based on demographic data and works to develop more awareness of what is offered
  • Acts as a productive committee member when assigned
  • Uses graphic design to create promotional materials, engages in public relations, digital marketing, search engine optimization and web design
  • Responsible for the positive marketing of the club and club activities, including the updating of the website and club newsletters and acting as an ambassador for the facility, updating all social media pages, and making recommendations for additional marketing opportunities
  • Maintains an effective open line of communication with the General Manager and Golf Management Team
  • Develops short and long-range goals for the Sandhill Crane Golf Club
  • Responds to public inquires in a positive manner maintaining the highest integrity of professionalism
  • Performs various administrative duties as assigned and assists as support staff when necessary
  • Must be available to work early morning, nights, weekends, holidays, split-shifts, events, and other non-traditional hours as needed and assigned
  • Tracks participation numbers for lessons, clinics, programs, tournaments, and memberships
  • Coordinates marketing displays in and around the golf shops and golf courses
  • Responsible for the yearly updating and printing of passholder Policies and Procedures manuals, rate sheets, passholder applications, and other widely used print materials
  • Will be the primary contact and responsible for the marketing initiative of the club at the yearly Honda Classic PGA Golf Tournament hosted at PGA National. Will also assist the City’s Media Relations department on the print and video advertisement space the City receives in the event program and on the shuttle televisions
  • Independently coordinates marketing and community events, including overseeing logistics, managing registrations, coordinating with vendors, creating itineraries, and ordering marketing collateral
  • Assists with outreach programs and develops relationships with local hotels, vendors, and businesses to promote the facilities
  • Coordinates with the City’s Media Relations Department regarding upcoming events, course closures, activities, Signature City magazine articles, and other marketing opportunities
  • Must be available for travel to promotional marketing opportunities within the community, including but not limited to the Green Market, industry shows, local companies, schools, and parks.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned


PERIPHERAL DUTIES:

  • Assists with various peripheral duties including the picking up of supplies, ordering materials, running errands, arranging for the rental and/or maintenance of equipment and setup for special events
  • Composes and edits correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy, and completeness
  • Ability to provide backup to related positions as division needs require
  • Occasional local travel may be required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of marketing experience preferred
  • Some golf-marketing experience preferred
  • Experience with various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Special Qualifications/Preferences

Valid State of Florida Driver’s License with a good driving record

Eligibility:Coverage in the City’s group insurance plans begins the first of the month following thirty (30) days of employment, transfer, or promotion.

Health Insurance:Choice of three (3) plans provided through Florida Blue. Employee contributions are required toward the cost of this insurance on a bi-weekly basis as follows:
