City of Ormond Beach is Hiring a Part Time Recreation Leader (Nova Recreation Center) Near Ormond Beach, FL

Summary:

Leads recreational program activities and special events. Supports Center Coordinators in planning and instructing classes, workshops, camp programs and seminars. Other activities may include general administrative work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in organized recreational programs, camps, and special events by providing instruction to participants, coordinating facilities, and training volunteers.
  • Promotes center programs and events by creating flyers, invitations, and other materials.
  • Communicates regularly with participants, community groups, and volunteer organizations.
  • Performs general clerical duties.
  • Assists in preparing and maintaining records and reports.
  • Opens and locks facilities before and after functions.
  • Must be available for overtime and emergency call-outs when necessary.
  • Assists in preparation for, response to, and recovery from, the impacts of a wide variety of disasters or emergency situations and may be temporarily assigned to other duties, locations, and shifts.
  • Meets attendance requirements.
  • Promotes positive customer service environment internally and externally.
  • Performs other job related functions as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent recognized certificate. Experience in general office work and recreational program planning preferred.

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual mustbe able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirementslisted below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Possession of a valid Florida drivers’ license.
  • CPR and First Aid training to be completed within three months of hire.
  • Knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office programs, and database management. Ability to operate office equipment and software necessary for job function.
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with children and adults.
