The city of New Orleans Finance dept is looking for Auditors to join our dedicated team! As an Auditor with the City of New Orleans you will play a crucial role in conducting comprehensive financial audits, assessing compliance with regulations and policies, and providing recommendations to enhance financial processes and controls within the city.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed financial audits of city departments, programs, and contracts to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and established policies.
• Analyze financial data, records, and transactions to identify irregularities, discrepancies, or areas of improvement.
• Develop audit plans and procedures, including risk assessment and testing methodologies.
• Prepare accurate and concise audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with departmental staff and stakeholders to address audit findings and implement recommendations.
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices in auditing and financial management

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
• A Bachelor's Degree in another field with a minimum of fifteen (15) semester hours in Accounting and nine (9) additional hours in either economics, management, or another business related course from an accredited college or university . Credit will only be given for semester hours listed on the college transcript with an accounting course prefix
• One year of professional auditing experience
