Water Conservation Internship 
Environmental Services Division 
Part-Time, Temporary, Non-Benefited
$20.00 - $25.00 Hourly
Choose Morgan Hill: The City of Morgan Hill is the best community for people to live, work, visit, and operate their businesses. 
The City of Morgan Hill is seeking an intern to support the Environmental Services Division. The intern must have interest, experience, and/or education in environmental topics related to water conservation.
 
This internship is in-person located at Morgan Hill City Hall/Council Chambers at 17575 Peak Ave. Commitment of 10 to 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible so long as they are completed Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Candidates may be asked to work occasional weekends and occasional weekday evenings to aid with public outreach events. Interns will work with people of all ages in both indoor and outdoor settings. The rate for the internship is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour.
 
Water Conservation Internship projects may include:
  1. Work with property owners to comply with the watering schedule, turf watering bans, and leak detection to increase water savings and reduce water waste in the community. 
  2. Survey Non-Functional Turf in the community and help educate Commercial, Industrial, and Institution properties about the requirements of Ordinance No. 2342 section 13.04.330 B.4.
  3. Identify and classify Commercial, Industrial, and Institution properties into specific water-centric categories.
  4. Utilize data software platforms to analyze data on commercial outdoor water use.
  5. Maintain program upkeep and answer questions from the public.
  6. Assist with the water conservation public outreach program including design, creation and distribution of outreach materials, coordination of community outreach campaigns, and help with occasional evening/weekend public outreach events.
