$28.00 - $30.00 Hourly

The City of Morgan Hill is seeking an Environmental Program Specialist to support the Environmental Services Division. The Specialist must have interest, experience, and/or education in environmental topics related to clean energy and climate action.
 
The position is in-person and located at Morgan Hill City Hall/Council Chambers at 17575 Peak Ave with a commitment of 20-35 hours per week. Hours are flexible so long as they are completed Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Candidates may be asked to work occasional weekends and occasional weekday evenings to aid with public outreach events. The Specialist will work with people of all ages in both indoor and outdoor settings. The rate is $28.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on applicant’s qualifications. This position is expected to end November 2024.
 
The Specialist will focus on Climate Action Plan (CAP) Implementation. Projects may include:
  1. Induction Cooktop Program coordination and management.
  2. Assist with the CAP outreach to the community including design, creation and distribution of outreach materials, coordination of community outreach campaigns, and help with occasional evening/weekend public outreach events.
  3. Coordinate the annual Earth Day event and Clean Air Week event.
  4. Implement aspects of the Morgan Hill CAP.
  5. Develop All-Electric Fire Station signage.
  6. Work with Silicon Valley Clean Energy to provide residents electrification incentives/rebates.
  7. Other tasks as assigned.
