City of Louisville is Hiring a Guest Services Attendant - Coal Creek Golf Course Near CO 80027, CO

The Coal Creek Golf Course is looking for qualified candidates to fill our part time Guest Services Attendant position. This position is under the direct supervision of the Assistant Golf Professionals and may be assigned to a variety of duties in guest services at the Golf Course including: Golf Cart/Range Ball Attendant, Player Assistant and Starter. Excellent customer service and knowledge of the game of golf are required. Assignments are based on needs of the golf course.
This is a part time position with varied hours.

  • Thoroughly washes and hand dries each golf cart daily; carefully stores each cart in the parking spots provided in a safe, non-destructive manner taking care not to damage cart or facility.
  • Checks carts for damage, mechanical problems, steering problems and brake problems. Reports any mechanical problems in writing to the Golf Professional or Operations Coordinator on duty.
  • Ensures all pull carts are cleaned, including tires, and are stored in an orderly position daily. 
  • Ensures all carts are accounted for each day.
  • Keeps the cart storage/wash area litter free and orderly.
  • Replaces sand/seed in containers and refills ball washers as needed.
  • Inspects and cleans all rental club sets nightly. Ensures the correct number of clubs is cleaned for the next day's use.
  • Locks the cart storage area nightly.
Range Duties:
  • May operate the Driving Range ball picker and all equipment in a safe, non-destructive manner.
  • Washes range balls after each picking prior to distribution. Changes water in the ball washer daily.
  • Sorts and disposes of all range balls unfit for distribution. Unplugs balls from the landing area as needed.
  • Reports any damage or misuse of equipment or property immediately to the Golf Professional or Operations Coordinator on duty.
  • Ensures all safety practices are enforced. Responsible for the cleanliness of the wash and work area. Ensures that all equipment is stored properly at the end of a shift.
May assist with Player Assistant/Starter Duties when Rangers or Starters are not available:
Player Assistant:
  • Coordinates the flow of golfers on the course with help from the pro shop and starter on duty.
  • Maintains communication via radio or phone with pro shop and course assistant regarding play.
  • Maintains a predetermined pace of play amongst all players.
  • Keeps adequate levels of water and ice in the on-course water coolers.
  • Assists with disabled carts as requested.
  • Fills divots and repairs ball marks as needed.
  • May be required to assist in the event of an accident/injury on the golf course.
  • Enforces dress codes and cooler restrictions.
Starter:
  • Answers incoming phone calls and disseminates appropriate facility and operational information.
  • Monitors and records pace of play in coordination with the Player Assistant. Reports any irregularities to the Golf Professional or Pro Shop Staff on duty. 
  • Maintains communication via radio or phone with pro shop and player assistant regarding play. 
  • Maximizes the use of the golf course by grouping players as needed.
  • Maintains the lost and found area in an orderly and presentable manner. 
  • Monitors starter supplies and reports shortages to the Head Golf Professional. 
  • Monitors course dress code, golf equipment requirements and cooler restrictions and reports violations to the Golf Professional or Pro Shop Staff on duty.

  • Must be at least 16 years of age by date of hire.
  • Previous Golf driving range attendant experience is preferred. Working knowledge of the game of golf preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must be able to read, comprehend and interpret City of Louisville's policies and procedures. Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, citizens and others verbally and in writing. Must possess outstanding customer service skills and ability to deal with diverse populations. Ability to respond to customer concerns promptly and effectively.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to complete time sheets.
 
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
 
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED
Golf carts, range cart, phone, copier, computer, golf equipment.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, exhibit manual dexterity and the ability to handle objects. Must be able to lift 100 pounds assisted and 50 pounds unassisted. This position requires the ability to drive a motorized vehicle, golf cart. This position requires exposure to all types of weather and grasses. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face to face communication is needed.WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and sun. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock.
