Senior Engineer
The City of Lincoln Department of Transportation & Utilities - Project Delivery Division is seeking a highly responsible individual to assist in the administration and coordination of municipal infrastructure projects and provide professional management and design services for a variety of projects ranging from routine to complex. The individual will be responsible for leading projects, reviews, and coordination with other entities and assigned personnel or outside consultants.
The Department’s mission is to responsibly deliver, enhance and maintain vital infrastructure and services for the good of our community. This Senior Engineer position will be responsible to uphold this mission by overseeing engineering design work of the highest technical nature in the Project Delivery Division. Considerable independent judgment is required in interpreting and adapting professional standards and principles as well as official policies, ordinances, regulations, and guidelines for routine and unusual engineering design issues for locally and federally funded projects.
General supervision, review of work items, and establishment of goals is completed in consultation with the Project Delivery Manager and Assistant Director of Transportation while working alongside and collaborating with other Sr. Engineers and Engineers in the Project Delivery Division. Strong management skills, ability to communicate project concepts to a wide audience and effective interpersonal abilities are essential.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in engineering
Four years of experience in progressively responsible engineering work including two years of experience in a supervisory capacity;
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Registration as a Professional Engineer by the State of Nebraska. If registered in another state, must obtain State of Nebraska registration within six months of appointment.
Possession of a valid driver’s license
