JOB
Position is responsible for creation of queries, reports and analyses pulled from the agency's massive database of property tax assessment information as requested by the Assessment Division and Director of Data Analysis. Analysis includes, but is not limited to, application of statistical methods commonly found in the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) standards. In addition, the Data Research Analyst will be responsible for performing research to resolve errors and properly adjust business data entities and related ownership information within the database.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Creates queries, reports and analyses pulled from agency database of property tax assessment information.
Designs and maintains databases to collect auxiliary assessment data such as income and expense data.
Creates datasets to be submitted to the State and ensures their compliance with the formatting rules and directives of the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF).
Provides data and economic analysis for agency employees.
Performs manual and systematic processes to resolve customer data errors.
Analyzes data for quality issues and develops action plans to correct.
Performs record updates and regular data clean-ups manually and systematically as required to ensure data consistency.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
This position requires the knowledge of established laws and IAAO standards, which control most of the action in this position and include many opportunities for subjective and discretionary choices that will have an effect on the fair distribution of the property tax burden. This will require substantial decision-making latitude and authority. Independent professional judgment, subject to the approval of the County Assessor and Director of Data Analysis, is regularly expected in this position.
