About the Position: 
The Wellness Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of wellness within the organization. They are responsible for assessing the wellness needs of City employees and devising evidence-based strategies to promote wellness effectively. This role involves designing and distributing incentives to encourage participation in wellness programs. Furthermore, the Wellness Coordinator collaborates closely with all City departments and workgroups to provide education, training, and support to enhance wellness initiatives across the organization.   • Assess the wellness needs of City employees; work collaboratively with the City’s health insurance provider and the Sage Health and Wellness Center to identify disease areas and recommend health plan programs specific to high claims costs. 
  • Develop and implement evidenced-based strategies to promote wellness for employees and spouses to include screenings, awareness building activities, behavior change programs, environment changes, incentives and wellness challenges; conduct research into new wellness initiatives in an effort to provide fresh, relevant, and innovative activities and programs to City employees. 
  • Establish metrics, collect results data and appropriately analyze data to measure desired outcomes, and effectively respond to the information; conduct program assessments and employee surveys to assess priorities in the City`s wellness program; gather ideas, boost participation and sustain interest in the City`s wellness program.
  • Collaborate with all City departments and workgroups across the organization to educate, train, and enhance wellness initiatives; coordinate, communicate, promote and implement wellness events for City staff. 
  • Plan, organize and coordinate wellness committee meetings and activities; develop a network of resources and contacts to strengthen wellness programming and knowledge. 
  • Develop and implement City communication strategies to engage employee participation in the wellness program; create communication materials, including emails, health articles and newsletters, online content and promotional materials; analyze responses and feedback to strengthen marketing and communication campaigns. 
  • Research and develop innovative wellness policies for the City; keep abreast of current national wellness initiatives, policies, and activities.

  • Two (2) years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, health education, exercise sciences, health promotion, or other related field.

Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
