The City invites applicants for part-time Recreation Technician at the Goleta Community Center. Ideal candidates have exceptional customer service skills, experience in planning and coordinating programs or events, with some experience in Recreation or Human Services desirable.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The part-time Recreation Technician coordinates and promotes senior programs at the Goleta Community Center for area residents which include activities and services providing recreational, social, physical, nutritional and educational components. Primary programs will typically operate during weekday morning hours, with the need to provide services in the evening and weekends as needed.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Neighborhood Services Department has several divisions and provides a broad range of "front-facing" services to the Goleta community. In addition to the Neighborhood Services Division which oversees the management of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program (and other grant programs), City Assist (online portal for residents to submit requests for services), Homelessness, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Parking Control and Enforcement. The Department's other divisions include Library Services, Parks and Recreation, and it is responsible for several important Capital Improvement Projects.
