Salary and Hiring Bonus: |
This position is a Grade XXX with an annual salary between XXX - XXX.In addition to a generous salary, this position offers a $XXX Hiring Bonus!Hiring Bonus to be paid as follows: $1,000 after 30 days of employment, $1,000 after 6 months of employment, and $1,000 after 12 months of employment. You must be an active employee at the time the hiring bonus is scheduled to be paid to receive the bonus. Current regular status City of Glendale employees are not eligible for hiring bonuses. |

Right-of-Ways:
One year of experience in construction, maintenance, and repair work and/or in the operation of light, medium and heavy equipment related to area of assignment.
Knowledge of:
Rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to area of assignment
Materials, tools, equipment, safety hazards and precautions common to the assigned areas of responsibility
Hazard, safety rules, precautions related to equipment operation
Traffic laws, ordinances, rules and regulations as they relate to equipment operation
Street layouts and routes
Confined space entry procedures.
Ability to:
Read and understand blue prints, technical diagrams, and maps
Barricade work sites according to the Phoenix barricade manual
Understand and follow safe working practices
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Deal courteously with the public
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and citizens
Operate and perform maintenance and minor repair on light, medium, and heavy equipment
Perform general maintenance and service requirements of equipment in area of responsibility
Understand and carry out oral and written instructions and work independently
Accurately and timely complete reports and logs; record daily work activities and enter and retrieve information on computers
Operate and understand atmospheric sensing devices.
Maintain the appropriate state of Arizona driver license with relevant endorsements.
Coordinate hand and eye movements
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.
Special Requirements Applicants will be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing prior to employment and will be subject to further drug and alcohol testing throughout their period of employment in accordance with the City of Glendale Substance Abuse policy.
Valid Arizona class D driver license
Valid Commercial Driver's License with endorsements is required for some positions and some positions require the ability to obtain a CDL within 180 days.
Work Zone Certification is required for all positions.
A WCISA Tree Worker Certification may be required for some positions within Right-Of-Way within six months of hire.
The Arizona Restricted Pesticide Certification may be required for some positions within Right-Of-Way within six months of hire.
Position in the Right of Way Landscape division require a Class A CDL with Tanker (N) endorsement within 6 months of hire.
May be subject to call back, stand-by duty, and evening, weekend and rotating shifts.
Some positions require Arizona Restricted use of Pesticide Certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
