City of Florence is Hiring an Admin Assistant - City Manager's Office - (TEMP - 4 Months - Cardinal) Near Florence, OR

General Information

The City of Florence is seeking a temporary Administrative Assistant (hired through Cardinal Service) for an approximate duration of 4 months beginning June 1.

  • This is full-time, 40 hours per week. 
  • Hours are 08:00 am to 5:00 pm; Monday through Friday.
    • May be an occasional need to attend after hours meetings/events
  • This position pays $17.48/hr.

Position is open until filled. First review on May 27.

This position is through Cardinal Services and is not a direct City of Florence position. Applicants will be screened by the City and then referred to Cardinal to complete an employment application through Cardinal.

Job Description

This position performs a variety of critical functions within the City Manager’s Office at City Hall, including:

  • Process credit card reconciliations, purchase orders, and purchase requests; and
  • Compile, edit, and publish City wide internal and external newsletters.

In addition to these critical functions, this position will also:

  • Process travel and training arrangements as needed;
  • Assist in the setup for internal and public meetings as needed, including coordinating catering, printing materials, and assisting in technical setup;
  • Manage the internal City calendar and management staff calendars;
  • Assist in event planning and help coordinate functions on the day of the event;
  • Update the City’s website with new information as instructed.
  • Function as front counter/initial point of contact for customer service, which includes greeting guests; answer incoming calls; and answering basic email correspondence.
  • Other related activities as needed or assigned

Qualifications

General knowledge of Office Suite programs, including Word, Excel, and Publisher.

Previous experience processing purchase orders/requests.

Desired experience with updating websites.
