The City of Everett is accepting applications on an open/competitive basis for the Civil Service examination process for SYSTEM ANALYST II.
There is currently one position open with an emphasis on supporting technology systems support specific to the Everett Municipal Court, including E-filing and electronic case management systems. In addition, the City’s upcoming photo enforcement project will require working with Administrative Office of the Courts to integrate that program with the Judicial Information System (JIS) the court currently uses and the new case management system once online. The applications being added to digitize these processes will require an IT System Analyst II to implement and maintain into the future.

The Information Technology Department is a Solution Provider that enables City Departments to deliver efficient and effective government. About the Job
Under the direction of the IT Director or their designee, employees in this classification are responsible for the estimation, development, implementation, enhancement, maintenance and change control of applications. Employees in this classification provide solutions to a variety of problems of advanced scope/complexity. Incumbents work on complex projects and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Employees in this classification work under minimal supervision. Wide latitude for independent judgement and decision making is exercised. May act as lead or mentor over less experienced individuals.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires 4-6 years of related experience OR any combination of education, certification, and experience sufficient to provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OR CERTIFICATIONS
Possession of a valid driver license at the date of hire, and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Washington State Driver License within 30 days of hire.
CompTIA IT Fundamentals and Cloud Highly is highly desirable.
Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Azure Database Administrator Associate, and Power Platform App Maker Associate is highly desirable.
Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate, and Power Platform Developer Associate is highly desirable.

EXAMINATION STEPS
The Supplemental Questionnaire is part of the application (weighed 30%). Answers must be detailed and will be blind rated.
Responses to the supplemental questionnaire will be individually reviewed and evaluated (weighted 30%).
Top-scoring applicants will be called to an oral panel interview (weighted 70%).
All vacancies in this job class will be filled from the ranked Civil Service register established from the examination process for 12 months.
IMPORTANT NOTES
A passing grade of 70.00 or higher is required on all parts of the screening process for placement on the ranked Civil Service eligible register.
The examination process is designed to sample and measure the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Applicants claiming veterans’ preference points in accordance with RCW 41.04.010 as amended and meeting eligibility criteria must submit form DD214 or other official military separation documentation that clearly indicates an honorable discharge from military service on or before the date filing closes.
Extensive background checks will be conducted.
Hiring offers are contingent upon successful completion of a City-paid pre-employment physical.
New hires begin employment at the first step of the salary range.
