Position Description
Target Entry Range: $71,871 - $79,058 DOQ
POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED
Under limited direction, the Gas Sales Division Manager supervises, oversees, and manages the sales force tasked with growing the Clearwater Gas System customer base. Sells, markets, and coordinates sales for all gas services with builders, contractors, homeowners, business/commercial, and developers.
This recruitment is for our Gas System Department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Manages, oversees, and supervises all gas related sales for the City of Clearwater; Oversees Sales Representatives, Inside Sales Representative, Sales Customer Service Representative and Administrative Assistant; provides highly skilled sales work and remains the primary contact for all builder, developer, and contractor questions and negotiations; provides problem solving for gas sales activities.
  • Engages and fields various phone calls and digital inquiries daily for specific gas questions and jobs resulting from gas sales; receives questions and determines appropriate action relating to sales contracts and specifications.
  • Determines gas and supply needs, develops quotes for installation, and prepares necessary paperwork to install and establish services for customers; promotes and enhances the sales program through implementing effective marketing and advertising strategies.
  • Processes orders, collects payments, and provides assistance for various other sales and gas related transactions; inputs service records, appliance orders, utility request quotes, estimates, and other transactions; provides specifications, diagrams, and pipe sizing tables to ensure installation occurs according to sales information.
  • Coordinates and organizes the installation and turn on of services; communicates with installation crews, evaluates schedules, estimates installations, coordinates pickups, communicates with the warehouse, provides customer service, and reviews completed jobs.
  • Drafts and creates advertisement for promoting appliances; collaborates with Marketing to approve printing for publications, direct mass mailing initiatives, compile customer data, and select key demographics to market towards.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with builders, developers, key gas customers and other entities.
  • Markets and advertises natural gas services; determines effective ways to promote services and bring new offerings to market; develops contracts and agreements and meets with customers to discuss and review requirements.
  • Manages and supports staff handling sales specifics with customers; addresses challenging customer questions and answers questions regarding progress, installation, permitting, and sales; provides performance evaluations, creates goals, and ensures quality work output.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Licenses , Certifications , and Equipment :
A valid State driver's license is required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field AND five (5) years of sales and/or customer service experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
