City of Bossier City is Hiring a Laborer I (Customer Service) Near Bossier, LA
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Under immediate supervision, is responsible for work of routine nature in performing manual labor in all weather conditions. Primarily performs manual tasks involving the reading of water meters, maintenance, cleaning, and repairs of water meters, registers, lenses, and water valves. Other job functions can include the cleaning and repairing of water meter boxes, and meter box covers. Under certain circumstances may be required to perform other job duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Must have a valid Louisiana driver’s license.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Some knowledge of standard hand tools. Must have the ability to understand and follow oral instructions. Must be able to lift and move heavy objects. No previous training or experience is required. Must be able to walk long distances, bend, squat, kneel and be able to read small numbers. Must be able to interact with customers and be able to communicate via 2 way radio. Physical stamina, manual dexterity, eye-hand foot coordination, and the ability and willingness to follow instructions are a must.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
