City of Bloomington, IN is Hiring a Seasonal Lifeguard (43 Open Positions) Near Bloomington, IN

Description

Ensures the safety and well-being of patrons at City Pools. Lifeguards work off of a rotation. They are up in the chair for typically 20 minutes and down for 20 minutes. The 20 minutes down from the chair involves maintaining facility cleanliness that typically involves cleaning responsibilities in both the men's and women's bath houses, admin area, and pool deck.

Duties

Essential (primary)

Enforces facility rules;
Conducts emergency procedures when necessary;
Maintains facility cleanliness;
Participates in all regular, ongoing in-service training sessions;
Enforces rules and safety policies,
Additional Information:
Hours vary, anywhere between 15 and 50 hours per week, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Pool Season is mid - May through September

Job Requirements

Lifeguard training required*. First Aid*, CPR-PRO* and AED* required.

Classes will be offered by the Department; Applicants can take the Lifeguard Course offered by the department.

Previous lifeguarding experience, preferred
Applicants need to be able to swim 300 yards in less than 6 minutes and/or have successfully completed and received their Lifeguard Certification
Ability to communicate with the public in a positive manner.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, required.
