Description

Swim Instructor for the City of Bloomington at the Bryan Park Pool during the month of June and July

Duties

This job description is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all job functions performed. The following are essential duties for this position, performed with or without reasonable accommodation:

Essential (primary)

Teaches class content appropriate to the course description, level and within certification guidelines in a group setting.
Monitors participants and assess their skills.
Provides a safe environment for all participants.
Conducts assigned aquatic classes in a safe and professional manner;
Responsible for the safety of all class participants.
Maintains current and accurate records on each class;
Assists with cleaning and maintaining the facility, enforces rules and safety policies; and
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Information:
Classes are scheduled 9:30am to 10:45M and/or 7:15pm to 8:15pm weekdays, June and July

Job Requirements

Prior experience in working with children; preferred.
Prior teaching experience, preferred.
Ability to teach swimming skills to individuals
Ability to communicate with the public in a positive manner.
Current First Aide and CPR-Pro certification, preferred. These classes will also be offered by the department.
