City of Bedford is Hiring a Pool Manager Near Bedford, TX

Supervises, personally or through subordinates, the operations of Roy Savage Pool at Central Park maintenance and sanitation in accordance with municipal rules and procedures by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervises, oversees, and manages staff; performs hiring, scheduling, training, and performance reviews; maintains employee records, payroll, in-service training, discipline and other personnel actions.
  2. Collects and secures, and processes pool revenue; maintains adequate inventory by ordering all necessary supplies and equipment.
  3. Compiles and submits operating reports which includes daily log, daily receipts, attendance reports, and accident and injury reports. Creates and implements scheduling and monitors special events, rentals and projects.
  4. Oversees and maintains a prescribed standard of safety, sanitation, facility appearance and security, and equipment operation. Responsible for organization and cleanliness of pool, bathrooms and staff areas. Documents all discrepancies in daily log.
  5. Directs and assists staff in enforcing pool users of rules concerning dress and conduct, and enforces rules or ejects unruly or unauthorized persons as necessary; acts immediately to resolve emergency situations.
  6. Trains and oversees staff concerning customer service, safety, first aid, and emergency procedures.
  7. Monitors water chemistry by conducting water chemical tests to maintain appropriate water quality and documents all recordings ensuring compliance with health codes.
  8. Monitors sanitary conditions, performs inspections for general maintenance needs. 
  9. May perform other assignments and handle special projects as required.
  10. Regular and timely attendance is required, as well as, the ability to get along with others in a professional and cordial manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages subordinate supervisor who supervises Head Lifeguards. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; recommending employee rewards and discipline; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma / GED; and two years of related supervisory experience in an aquatic setting, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess an American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.

Desirable: Certified Pool and Spa Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator, and American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor

SPECIALIZED KSA'S

Must possess a demonstrated knowledge: of Microsoft Excel and Word; cash register; pool facility (swimming pool chemical analysis and adjustment, preferably through personal computer programs); and pump room. Must possess a physical fitness as required for extended or strenuous swimming and lifeguard activities.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
