GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Perform general clerical, organizational and office responsibilities for department as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Secretary/Clerical position is one that requires a modern-day skill set and the ability and willingness to develop as technology progresses.
On a daily basis the position acts as a liaison between department management and the community as well as various other entities. Persons in this position must have the ability to demonstrate or perform the following skills in an acceptable manner in order to achieve desired results: responsible decision making, the ability to feel and show empathy for others, good problem-solving skills, good PC and general software use skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well within a team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:
SPECIALIZED TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
ACCEPTABLE TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited high school or a GED and two (2) years experience in an administrative, multi-faceted environment, or any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, feel to operate office equipment or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to five (5) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision (corrected or uncorrected), color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
