Working under the supervision of the Police Chief and Director of Parks and Recreation, the Park Ranger is responsible for patrolling parks, trails, and public grounds to ensure public safety and protect resources. The Park Ranger informs, guides, and educates park visitors about park rules and city and state laws governing park behavior.
The position will involve supporting facility maintenance, fulfilling operational and administrative functions, assisting with community programs and events, and interacting with community groups and other constituents. The Park Ranger will communicate any potential enforcement issue in the parks to Aurora Police Department and will, if necessary, respectfully confront those who may be violating city or state laws or park rules.
