The City of Auburn is looking for hardworking, team players to assist our Parks Department in maintaining our parks. We have several temporary maintenance positions open and would love to have you join our team!

Temporary employees who perform successfully in these roles have the opportunity to be placed on an eligibility list for future permanent, full-time, benefit eligible positions in a Maintenance Worker I classification. Successful temporary workers will be given priority for these positions and will be scheduled for additional interviews and/or skills testing.

Temporary positions are available 20-40 hours per week for up to 5 1/2 months.

Some positions start immediately. However, hiring may continue through the Spring and Summer months, depending upon the needs of each division.

PARKS: Duties may include mowing and weeding; collecting litter; maintaining facilities; and preparing athletic fields.Employees will perform other related work as required. Must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid Washington State Driver's License, and have the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.SHOE REQUIREMENT: Steel-toed shoes required on first day of employment- furnished by the employee. 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Positions require heavy manual labor in all weather conditions. Occasionally required to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Visit job sites that require walking on uneven, rocky, or rough ground. Perform physical activity including but not limited to lifting, carrying and moving heavy objects; repeated walking, bending and stooping for long periods of time.
