What is this role? 

As the Supplier Quality Manager for Cirkul, you will be responsible for furthering the quality engineering’s organization’s ability to support supplier quality operations throughout the business. The key objectives of the Supplier Quality Manager include managing supplier management systems, including supplier quality manuals, procedures, and improvement activities. This role will have people leadership and oversight of the Supplier Quality Engineering team. 

What does an average day look like? 

• Driving Results: 
• Develop and maintain a supplier management system, including supplier quality manuals, procedures, scorecards, and improvement activities for both domestic and international suppliers.
• Manage, develop, and expand the team of Supplier Quality Engineers who are responsible for supplier quality / development, and process optimization. 
• Monitor the supplier's quality performance, such as product defects, on-time delivery, and other incidents involving the supplier's failure to meet established requirements.
• Perform initial suppliers' assessments and ongoing supplier audits. Play a critical role in oversight, development, and approval of process validations at supplier sites.
• Taking Ownership: 
• Certify Suppliers - In concert with Procurement and Quality - develop, Document, and maintain the Criteria and Approve the "Master" Supplier List.
• Develop a Supplier Corrective Action process and issue notices when needed based on supplier performance. 
• Making Decisions: 
• Develop current suppliers' phase-out plans, and new supplier phase-in to improve overall supply chain performance and coordinate with Supply Chain.
• Cultivating Relationships: 
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure root causes are documented, corrective actions are documented, and corrective actions are taken and sustained. Ensure supplier-caused quality agreement-related issues have documented root causes and countermeasures in place.
• Strategically work with suppliers to add new capacity based on their performance. 
• Develop and mentor quality engineering team members. 
• Instilling Trust: 
• Collaborate with Engineering to define parameters/critical/tolerances to align the supplier's capability with product requirements.
• Customer Focus: 
• Manage suppliers key performance indicators and work with supply chain partners for quality issues and coordinate with the supplier to drive timely resolution.

What background should you have? 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field. 
• CQE and/or CQA certification is a plus 
• 6 years of Quality Engineering experience preferably with high-volume consumer products. 2 years in a Quality Engineering leadership role. 
• Ability to travel up to 50%. 
• Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams as a change agent, facilitator, coach, and mentor.
