Job Description Overview: Post-Press Lead

I. Position Mission

The Post-Press Lead is responsible for being a leadership resource to team members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice. The lead is responsible for knowing proper procedures for workers to follow and ensuring compliance. Additionally the lead will be responsible for training, organizing, meeting metrics, ensuring proper PPE, and enforcing all Circle Graphics policies and procedures.

II. Working Environment and Physical Demands

Typical manufacturing environment, which may include changes in temperature and loud noises. This position requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting and stretching. Lifting demands will reach 50 lbs regularly.

FLSA StatusThis is a full-time position requiring consistent dependable attendance. At times will require some over time (staying late and/or some weekends). This position is not exempt from overtime.

III. Tasks description – Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

MANAGE POST-PRESS ACTIVITIES: 70% of position responsibility.

• Organizing and delegating work to members of the post-press team
• Checking shipment status in CGOM
• Update hourly tracking boards
• Looking up missing jobs and/or requesting reprints
• Assist with general post press production
• Ensuring quality of finished product
• Approve/Reject poster quality
• Document quality issues as required
• Sending out email updates detailing the progress of production
• Work on projects with PM’s on efficiency, quality and safety

SUPERVISION OF EMPLOYEES: 30% of position responsibility

• Training new and current employees in work processes and company procedures
• Supervision and coaching of all subordinate employees
• Assisting in periodic performance reviews for subordinate employees
• Evaluating work product, speed, quality of work, etc. for subordinate employees
• Assisting in any necessary disciplinary action
• Ensuring that team follows all processes required by Circle Graphics
• Ensuring that team follows all safety rules required by Circle Graphics
• Ensuring security of facilities during designated shift hours
• Motivate and lead team in meeting company metrics on safety, quality and labor

IV. Additional Task and Responsibilities

• Working with production manager on duty and providing ongoing status updates and escalating issues they come up
• Other duties and assignments as assigned
• Elevate improvement ideas from the team to management if/when approved assist with implementation

V. Skills, Intellectual Demands and Job Requirements:

EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:

• High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent
• 8 or more years’ experience
• Some supervisor/lead experience preferred
• Lean/project management experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Must be able to speak English; bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Thorough understanding of Circle Graphics process and policies
• Must be able to stand, bend, walk during entire shift
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
• Required to wear Personal Protective equipment (PPE) with or without accommodations for extended periods of time
