Cimarron Software is Hiring a Planner/Scheduler Near Houston, TX

Job Description:

Cimarron is seeking Planners to support a premier Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company in Houston, TX.

Key Duties:

  • Perform schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery plan development activities for FEED and EPC project proposal schedules.
  • Support project organizational and administrative activities.
  • Assist with the development and integration of individual discipline schedules into the total project plan.
  • Develop and maintain project progress reporting.
  • Perform schedule resource loading and leveling.
  • Support the development of scheduling standards and procedures.
  • Perform and/or coordinate, collect, verify, and integrate the work scope for all entities into the total project plan.
  • Review the representation of project scope in schedules.
  • Establish the conceptual scope of schedule studies.
  • Prepare and analyze comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between the projects.
  • Perform and verify the productivity analysis of construction operations.
  • Establish a productivity basis to be utilized in estimates, as developed in concurrence with Construction.
  • Review labor estimates for reasonableness.
  • Establish milestones for the total project or major portions of the project.
  • Review project work activities to ensure support of project milestones.
  • Coordinate the timely, systematic, and complete acquisition of scope definition and related data.
  • Assist in the development and integration of individual schedules into the total project plan.
  • Review the performing organization's and unit's work logic, and determine whether the schedules will adequately support the overall project schedule.
  • Plan, coordinate, and establish the level of quantification appropriate to the objectives of the effort and to the level of scope definition for each discipline or specialty.
  • Designate reference job(s) for source data and/or reconciliations of quantities.
  • Review the completeness and reasonableness of quantities.
  • Review and evaluate schedule durations for all disciplines' activities relative to the support of project milestones.
  • Coordinate the development of all bulk commodity release and installation curves.
  • Integrate appropriate manpower requirements for each discipline/specialty relative to the overall project needs.
  • Determine quantity and manpower levels in support of the project needs and schedule philosophy.
  • Obtain required schedule information by all disciplines.
  • Identify schedule restraints and their effects on the total project schedule.
  • Work with all departments to ensure an understanding of the total project schedule needs.
  • Verify the consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility.
  • Issue reports required by management and project procedures.
  • Support the development of scheduling standards and procedures.
  • Compile, summarize, update, and maintain historical schedule data.
  • Monitor and report the critical path and schedule performance of the total project.
  • Perform project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine the criticality of schedule activities.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
  • 5 or more years of related experience.
  • Experience performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office.
  • Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with PC operating systems, including several basic software applications.
  • Proficiency with multiple discipline-specific software applications (ex. Primavera and the Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Possesses an intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management that is customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
