Job Summary

Description
If you are selected as the Staff Program Planner/Scheduler, you will be accountable for developing, baselining, progressing, and forecasting the plans and schedule for assigned projects from FEL through the Execution phase and in alignment with CPMS standards. You will also provide reporting on schedule performance. This role reports to the Planning Supervisor.

Job Description

Responsibilities may include:

  • Develop and maintain schedules for assigned projects within the GCR Capital Projects group
  • Identify all activities on the project and develop logic using precedence diagram method (PDM)
  • Develop critical path schedules, progress S-curves and identify key project risks
  • Develop and update integrated project schedules incorporating engineering, procurement, construction, and key interfaces with drilling and completion
  • Manage schedule interfaces with project team, field construction team, Operations and Drilling & Completions
  • Monitor progress against the approved project plans and provide reports accurately defining the project status against the plan
  • Collect status and progress information from the relevant contractors and critically assess for consistency and progress relative to the approved plan
  • Evaluate contractor reports and invoices for claimed earned progress
  • Work with the Contractor’s Planning and Scheduling Specialists to ensure that task data is incorporated into the integrated project schedule
  • Deliver project schedules summarizing all contractor and ConocoPhillips detailed schedules allowing timely forecasting of potential schedule conflicts or slip in key project milestones
  • Construct logic network modifications to facilitate risk mitigation and contingency planning process
  • Prepare periodic reports of the status of all engineering, procurement, and construction activities
  • Compile and issue weekly and monthly progress reports
  • Prepare Reports of Earned Value and variance of the Project Plan
  • Assist and/or facilitate program and project specific risk management and analysis
  • Provide warnings and recommendations to management when deviations to the plan occur
  • Program approved recovery or work-around plans
  • Incorporate approved change orders into schedule logic and reports
  • Maintain project documentation and data preservation

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, other related technical field, or foreign equivalent
  • 7 years of experience with project controls in the oil and gas industry
  • Intermediate proficiency in preparation of automated and integrated project controls schedules

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in the use of Primavera P6 Professional software
  • Experience in use of risk analysis software (Pertmaster; Acumen Fuse; Monte Carlo)
  • Knowledge of Planning & Scheduling, Project Controls, Forecasting (Work In Progress/Earned Value), Accruals and General Accounting
  • Demonstrable ability to develop reports for, and presentations to management
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
  • Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
