We invite you to explore all our openings and learn more about our teams here.
ABOUT CIC EVENTS
The mission of CIC Events is to establish CIC as the nucleus for innovation by supporting our members, collaborating with strategic partners, and engaging the community. Central Events focuses on supporting this mission by closely collaborating with current and new centers, with work ranging from event operations to local strategy for the Events model. Central Events ties together all sites under a unified vision, enabling knowledge-sharing, cross-site support, and cohesive initiatives to make a meaningful financial and mission impact across the organization.
The scope of work within Central Events includes examining best practices, efficiencies, systems, and overall vision, then collaborating across sites to improve the event experience. Central Events is nested within the North America Strategy Team, enabling a critical touchpoint to Operations, Sales, Marketing, Launch, and management.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORK
In this role you will work closely with the Strategic Director of Events to drive cross-site event projects, share best practices, surface new ideas, and provide advice for implementation. Some work will be independent and within Central Events, while other work will be highly collaborative with other CIC teams. You will have ongoing and open channels of communication with each center. The work will primarily fall into two categories: support for current centers and Central Events initiatives.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
• Act as a resource for the entire CIC Events network, at times helping to fill gaps at certain centers. The nature of work tied to each center will be dependent on their shifting needs and priorities; this may range from providing event logistics support to contributing to higher level strategy conversations.
• Be a Tripleseat expert. Manage monthly reconciliation, source feedback on how fields and resources function, and make updates to custom fields, forms, and documents. As the software point person for CIC teams, you are responsible for maintaining an efficient system to help teams improve their event coordination process.
• Manage data to enable data-driven decision making and showcase a comprehensive view of CIC Events, with guidance from the Strategic Director of Events. This includes managing data through current systems, addressing new ways to collect relevant data points, and producing regular CIC Event Reports to effectively communicate the value of CIC Events.
• Create project plans in collaboration with the Strategic Director of Events, and once established, drive each element of the plan forward.
• Execution and guidance of event coordination. Be an event coordination expert, liaise with event hosts, coach team members on how to improve their processes, and enact creative solutions to tactical event operation challenges.
• Lead in-depth training for new hires on CIC Events to ensure a successful onboarding experience and acquisition of foundational skills required to perform their jobs.
• Provide tactical event support for launching new centers in order to enable sites to launch their event model efficiently.
• Address questions related to event coordination and processes tied to the operation of the CIC Events model to help ensure a smooth experience for the local teams, responding to changes in staffing and local priorities at each center.
ABOUT YOU
Overall, we like to employ service-minded people who are reliable, efficient, and able to work independently.
More specifically, as our ideal candidate, you:
• Have strong project management skills and can effectively plan and organize tasks and work responsibilities to achieve objectives.
• Are an excellent communicator, clearly and concisely delivering the appropriate message to each stakeholder.
• Prioritize effectively and know how to juggle multiple competing priorities while still delivering high-quality service. You stay organized while tracking hundreds of details.
• Evaluate, improve, and create systems and processes to increase efficiency.
• Are comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. You can independently and creatively solve problems on the spot.
• Take initiative, commit to excellent execution, and follow things through to completion.
• Proactively drive work forward, and contribute to larger projects that are owned or driven by other team members.
• Are comfortable with change and can help bring others along in the change process.
• Have enthusiasm for organizing successful events and the ability to think through all aspects of an event, anticipate issues, plan accordingly, and achieve the event’s objectives.
YOU HAVE
• Thorough understanding of and experience with event management.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of professional experience.
• A natural interest in helping and supporting others.
• Interest in a long-term role. We are a growing company, and we like to hire people who can grow with us over the years.
• Experience with Tripleseat (CIC’s event management platform) is preferred.
