The Payroll Analyst is an integral part of the payroll team and is responsible for the processing and auditing of payroll for multi-state employees. The Payroll Analyst also has a focus on reporting, reconciliations, tax, journal entries, accruals, and other payroll-related transactions on an enterprise level. The Payroll Analyst reports to the Payroll Manager.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
• Payroll Processing for employees in multi-states including tipped employees.
• Setting up and maintaining tax rates in payroll systems
• Reconciling and auditing payroll for accuracy
• Reconciling and auditing tips paid
• Prepare journal entries for accounting.
• Produce quarterly and monthly reports for Accounting (Vacation accrual, FUTA credit tax reductions, FICA Tip Credit report, etc.)
• Escheat stale dated payroll checks annually as per state regulations.
• Annual Preparation of 8027 reports.
• SOX compliance, reporting and audit preparation as needed.
Job Requirements:
• At least 3-5 years of payroll experience in a high-volume environment
• Multi-state payroll experience including reporting and taxation.
• Accounting knowledge and strong experience regarding payroll accounts
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, ADP Report creation
• Strong Organizational Skills
• Excellent Attention to Detail
• Keen sense of Urgency and Deadline oriented
Preferred Skills and Qualities:
• Bachelors Degree in Business or Accounting, a plus
• Certified Payroll Professional, a plus
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred and the ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
• ADP Vantage experience including ADPR (reporting)
• Restaurant (tipped employees) payroll experience.
• Public company payroll experience a plus.
• Strong desire to provide support for restaurants and managers.
• Good communication skills
