Job Description
CHUBB NORTH AMERICA CLAIMS - VP of QUALITY ASSURANCE
KEY OBJECTIVE:
This individual is responsible for the North America (NA) Claims Quality Assurance function. Major technical functions include Casualty, Workers Compensation, Property, Auto and Financial Lines. The individual will lead a team of Quality Assurance leaders and audit professionals and will manage and implement an effective Quality Assurance. An important part of the role will be to continuously improve and enhance effectiveness of this function in accordance with claims best practices, regulatory expectations, and evolving customer expectations. The role involves supporting strategic initiatives of the business as well as the larger corporate quality assurance, internal and external audit, and compliance obligations. This role will work directly with NA Claims Senior Executives, Office of General Counsel, Compliance and Claims Optimization teams supporting Quality Assurance and Compliance strategies.
This individual will need strong inter-personal and diplomacy skills; but more importantly, will need to be flexible and adaptable to an evolving insurance landscape.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the NA Claims Quality Assurance teams.
  • Develop and execute the NA Claims Quality Assurance strategy.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnership with multiple Discipline Heads, Claim Senior Leaders and Third-Party Administrators to provide timely guidance and advice to the Executive Management and other key stakeholders.
  • Responsible for assisting Discipline Heads in driving optimal outcomes for the organization.
  • Develop a data driven approach to auditing to ensure Chubb maintains the highest level of quality outcomes.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and any changes impacting NA Claims are addressed through appropriate strategic response and planning, including appropriate best practices.
  • Lead, develop and manage training and awareness of Quality Assurance and Compliance initiatives related to NA Claims operating environment and best practices with appropriate metrics and data analytics.
  • Assist and work with Discipline Heads on appropriate solutions to eliminate fines and penalties tied to claim handling.
  • Lead the investigation of claims related compliance issues or breaches in collaboration with NA CCO and other stakeholders.
  • Partner with NA Claims leaders to ensure Quality Assurance Management Action Plans are designed and implemented and that proper and effective controls are in place and monitored.
  • Responsible for Market Conduct Studies and Data Call preparedness and completion.
  • Report and escalate Quality Assurance and Compliance issues and developments as required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have 10 years of insurance industry experience, primarily in claims handing for commercial and/or personal lines related products.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and compliance related issues for both direct handled and TPA handled claims service models with a focus on Workers Compensation.
  • Strong abilities in evaluating coverage, litigation, contractual relationships, 50-state jurisdictional exposures, and regulatory compliance mitigation.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • A graduate degree preferred (JD, MBA, Other)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the insurance regulatory environment
  • Very strong analytical and technical skills in using data analytics to understand "root causes" of compliance deficiencies and effectiveness of controls
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships
  • Ability to consistently execute and deliver results
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic development environment
  • Strong knowledge of MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint Word; and legal/compliance research tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic development environment; and
  • The need to travel to various field offices and other meetings as deemed necessary by Senior Leader. Minimum of 30% travel required.

The pay range for the role is $128,500 to $215,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
