CHRIS 180 is Hiring a Bilingual Lead Case Manager Near Atlanta, GA

Position Description

CHRIS 180 Migrant Wellness Program provides 24-hour care for unaccompanied children (UC) under the care of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) who are placed in residential care as they prepare for sponsorship. The program provides stabilization, behavioral support, comprehensive case management, educational services, daily living skills acquisition, recreational and therapeutic activities, and coordination of care. The Migrant Wellness Program provides a family-involved, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach to care within residential communities throughout the Atlanta area.

As the Lead Case Manager, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing and leading the case management team to ensure adherence to job responsibilities, and agency expectations, and promote a positive work environment, while effectively maintaining a reduced client caseload. The Lead Case Manager administers assessments, coordinates services, and provides emergency on-call support to ensure high-quality case management services. This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with the agency, state, and ORR regulatory requirements. In collaboration with the clinical team, these services will be provided intensively, short-term, and require extensive knowledge of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) policies. This position is hybrid-based but requires regular travel to CHRIS 180 offices and residential facility locations.

Role and Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise and train the case management team.
  • Conduct weekly supervision with direct support staff to ensure adherence to the expected job responsibilities, provide feedback, and lend support.
  • Provide coverage support for case managers within the program, as needed.
  • Implement and facilitate training for case management staff related to services for clients’ educational, therapeutic, medical, and legal needs.
  • Maintain a reduced caseload in compliance with contract terms and agency expectations.
  • Conduct supervisory file reviews.
  • Assess the fidelity of policy implementation of the case management on an ongoing basis.
  • Oversee the case support and case manager training completion compliance in accordance with CHRIS 180, state, and ORR requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on ORR policies and procedures.
  • Serves as liaison between the organization and community partners to coordinate services, exchange information, and advocate for clients.
  • Leads interdisciplinary team meetings to identify concerns/issues and implement strategies and interventions.
  • Stay abreast of all agency, state, and ORR regulatory requirements related to social services.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Performance and Conduct:

  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Works on other duties, tasks, and projects as assigned.
  • Ensures agency compliance with National Council on Accreditation and other mandatory regulations/standards.

  • Follow mandated reporting requirements of the GA Code.
  • Support and maintain an environment of emotional and physical safety for youth, staff, and other stakeholders.

Demonstrate Customer Service:

  • Promote a positive image of CHRIS 180 programs at all times.
  • Work as a contributing and collaborative team member.
  • Respond to client and peer needs in a timely fashion.
  • Answer telephone calls and emails accordingly.
  • Respond to requests for information from stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Work with sponsors, education professionals, court officials, and other stakeholders and a helpful and professional manner.

Maintain Personal Information and Training:

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Attend and participate in required training as scheduled.
  • Maintain required certifications.
  • Review, understand, and be responsible for program policies.
  • Provide documents in a timely fashion to Human Resources (HR).
  • Report changes in status to HR as required by policy.

Qualifications/Competencies

  • A Bachelor's level degree in the behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields, is required; in combination with at least 3 years or prior case management experience in child and family services.
  • A Master’s degree in the human service field (e.g., social work, psychology, sociology, etc.), is strongly preferred.
  • The progressive professional experience that demonstrates supervisory and leadership responsibilities.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Prior experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations, is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibit an ability to apply the principles of logic and critical thinking with problem-solving.
  • Must be reliable with time-sensitive deadlines and tasks.
  • Work well under pressure and adaptable to change.
  • Computer skills adequate to perform essential functions (Apricot, Microsoft Office, and any internal case management software).
  • Must pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

Schedule

The hours will vary from week to week with a maximum of 40 hours a week at any given time unless written permission is given otherwise. The schedule will include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: $64,000.00/annually.
