Job Summary
The Production Technician is responsible for tasks associated with the installation of wiring of all low voltage wiring for Access Control, CCTV, Data, and Intrusion Systems. The job description listed herein is a basis of design and is not all inclusive.
Responsibilities
➢ Conduct yourself with the highest standards of ethics and professionalism
➢ Maintain a good relationship with all trades on the jobsite, especially our builders
➢ Available for work Monday through Saturdays 40-50 hours a week
➢ Reliable transportation required for daily work assignments and duties
➢ Pre-wire new construction homes for home security, audio, video, and phone/data lines.
➢ Arrive to work on-time and able to work an 8–10-hour work shift
➢ Have basic tools for position but not required tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), and pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, and gloves.
➢ Able to lift forty-five pounds consistently
➢ Climb up and down ladders consistently
➢ Ability to learn quickly and ask questions when not sure or clear on job responsibilities
➢ Basic ability to read and understand blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway,
Conduit, Cable Support). Familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted, may require assistance with more complex specifications
➢ Provides exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to problem solve and work outcome is at the highest professional trade standards
➢ Must have your own vehicle for work and will be able to submit mileage expenses using BSG travel reimbursement policies and procedures
➢ Climbing ladders and can include 16’ A frame ladder or 22’ Extension ladder
➢ Uploading pictures including D-Marc and any HR Closet. This includes any items not completed.
Example: no door frame, no windows.
➢ Making notes of status changes such as : “in progress”, “reschedule”, “complete”
Qualifications and requirements
➢ Bright, energetic professional with outstanding communication and great people skills
➢ Initiative-taking who can work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced, ever- changing environment
➢ Must be able to identify wiring colors and all types of color-coded products
➢ Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities and timeframes
➢ Elevated level of initiative, creative thinking, decision making and problem resolution skills
➢ Intuitive understanding of solution selling techniques
➢ Strong ability to learn, utilize and teach new and ever-changing technologies
➢ Demonstrate PC literacy and proficiency with email systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and ConnectWise
➢ Ability to work weekends and evenings including afterhours shifts
➢ 1-2 years low voltage/electrical experience
This role requires constant sitting, walking, talking, use of fingers and arms, mental alertness and hearing. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the time. Must be able to perform essential job functions in an environment that will sometimes include increased levels of work-related stress. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Must have ability to communicate clearly.
