Children With Opportunity is Hiring a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Near Liberty, MO

Speech Language Pathologist
At Children With Opportunity, we provide individualized therapy services for children with Autism. We pride ourselves on understanding the challenges, build on the child’s individual strengths, and support the needs of the family.
We are searching for SLPs seeking to promote development and diversity in communication and who are driven to inspire feelings of belonging and inclusion for autistic children and families with children who have autism.
We have three clinics in the KC area, two in Grain Valley, MO and one in Liberty, MO. Clinical fellowship is available for new grads. Come be part of our team!
Scope:
Identify, provide and create opportunities for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Work collaboratively with BCBAs, Occupational Therapists, Behavior Therapists and other team members to provide therapy services. Provide parent support and coaching when applicable. Feel comfortable with frequent parent observation sessions. Excited to learn more, provide education to staff, and grow within your career.

Requirements
  • Certified Speech and Language Pathologist
  • Bachelor level degree or above
  • Licensed as SLP in the state of Missouri
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CPR certification
  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Valid Driver’s License & Evidence of Insurability

  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and spend time on your feet as well as an ability to lift items up to 25 lbs on occasion

Responsibilities
  • Perform speech and language evaluations
  • Provide direct therapy
  • Provide education and consultation to staff on speech and language development
  • Supervise Speech Language Pathologist Assistants and Clinical Fellows
  • Assesses students' communication skills (e.g. articulation, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility and developing recommendations for treatment.
  • Collaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals (e.g. parents, teachers, physicians, administration, maintenance personnel, team members, other professionals, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providing services in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Participate in monthly team meeting and case review
  • Develop treatment plans, interventions and/or educational materials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communication disorders in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Instruct assigned support staff for the purpose of providing information on communicative disorders, use of assistive devices and feeding techniques and/or implementing prescribed treatment plans.
  • Instruct eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies (e.g. hearing aids, FM systems, augmentative communication devices, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing the adverse educational impact of communication disorders in accordance with established guidelines and legal requirements.*
  • *Interprets medical reports within the scope of Speech/Language Pathologist’s experience and goals for the purpose of providing information and/or ensuring that treatment/intervention plans are appropriate.
  • Maintain files and/or records (e.g. progress reports, activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, required documentation, quarterly reports, screening results, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g. training, IEPs, team meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Maintain appropriate social distancing, safety, and enhanced protective hygiene practices both on and off the job.(We provide PPE, caregiver communication tools and practices, and limit exposure through small work groups.)

Pay: $72,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
