Children's National Hospital is Hiring a Social Worker - PRN (As Needed) Near Washington, DC
This is a PRN (as needed - non benefitted) position assigned to The Heart Center. The social worker will need to be available during day shifts (8:30a-5p), 2-4 shifts per week. This position will assist with family and patient support in the Cardiac ICU and step down unit. Social work support to the ambulatory cardiology clinics may also be needed.
The social worker fosters positive and professional interpersonal relationships with patients/families, physicians, hospital staff, community agency representatives and visitors. Provides comprehensive psychosocial assessment for identified patients and based on findings, facilitates interventions. Effectively uses interpersonal communication skills to resolve conflicts and promote healing environment.
1 year Post-MSW experience as Social Worker or second year field placement in a complex medical setting (Required) Minimum LGSW in DC (LICSW preferred.)
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
Ability to Relocate:
- Washington, DC 20010: Relocate before starting work (Required)
