Children's Mental Health Services is Hiring a Mental Health Practitioner Near Grand Rapids, MN

The CMHS mental health practitioner/professional will provide mental health services to children and adolescents eligible under Minnesota Department of Human Services statutes:

The Mental Health Practitioner will work to improve the functioning of children in home, in school, and in the community through targeted case management and CTSS services. The Practitioner will assist families in accessing necessary services to meet mental health needs of children ages 0-18; collaborating with the clinical team to create, review, and implement treatment plan goals and objectives; and provide individual, group, and family skills training based on the treatment plan in the home, school, and community. Requires flexible scheduling and some evening work. Great opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team including therapists, child psychiatry, county social workers, and school personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide case management and CTSS (Children’s Therapeutic Services & Supports) to clients.
  • Provide direct service to the parents and families (guardian) of the service-eligible clients through home visits, coordination of in-home service activities, parent support, and crisis intervention assistance as requested by parents/families, school personnel, and other agencies.
  • Provide support liaison among home, school, and community agencies.
  • Provide consultation with special education program staff, parents, and other agencies regarding aspects of child behavior management strategies, crisis intervention, communication skills, and overall program development in working with clients who have emotional/behavioral disruption, and families who are experiencing difficulty.
  • Provide special education support services, clinical services, and consultation to identified special education students.
  • Meet and maintain all case management criteria under MN state statutes.
  • Attend all staff meetings, maintain records, and maintain productivity and budget requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate mental health related field or higher - AND/OR - qualifies as a Mental Health Practitioner as defined by Minnesota Statutes section 245.462, subdivision 17
  • Flexible scheduling - may need to work odd hours to meet clients’ needs
  • Valid driver’s license - Required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft and Google applications and web-based platforms
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detail-oriented

Pay: From $35,568.00 per year
