Children’s Home Society in Sioux Falls, SD, is currently seeking a System Administrator to help with managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, and network to ensure smooth operations and efficient use of technology resources. System administrators play a key role in supporting the organization's mission and ensuring that staff members have the necessary tools and resources to carry out their work effectively.

What You'll Do: 

Your responsibilities as a System Administrator:

  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software applications. Ensure that systems are properly configured, updated, and maintained.
  • System Administration: Manage the organization's Computer Systems, Network servers, and upgrade company hardware and software to meet security and business standards. Implementing automations where applicable.
  • User Support: Provide technical support to staff members, addressing hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • User Accounts and Permissions: Manage user accounts, access permissions, and security settings to ensure data integrity and privacy.
  • Software Installation and Updates: Install, configure, and maintain software applications used by the organization, ensuring that they are up-to-date and compatible.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage data backup and recovery solutions to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.
  • Security Management: Implement and monitor security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems, to protect the organization's IT environment from cyber threats.
  • Patch Management: Apply security patches, updates, and software upgrades to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with technology vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and manage hardware and software contracts.

  • Must be able to be committed to delivering exceptional quality, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in all aspects of our work. 

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30pm 

Compensation: $60,000-$75,000/annually (Depending on Education/Experience)

Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is typically required. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) can be advantageous.
  • Experience: Practical experience in system administration, network management, or IT support roles. Experience in nonprofit organizations or child-focused sectors is beneficial.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical proficiency in systems administration, networking, server management, and troubleshooting.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, etc. Extended PC viewing and keyboarding required. Extended periods of sedentary work required.

Must successfully complete all required background/pre-employment checks. EEO/AA.
