The Site Director of Esther B. Clark School (EBC) – Palo Alto Campus is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of EBC’s Palo Alto site. As such, this individual ensures the school functions in compliance with CDE regulations across all domains – academic, behavioral, therapeutic, and personnel. The Site Director serves as the official representative in all school matters at the Palo Alto campus.

Responsibilities:

Personnel:

The Site Director makes recommendations to the Director regarding personnel needs, compensation and their allocation across the program at the Palo Alto site. The Site Director, with the Operations team, interviews and, collaborating with Human Resources, hires staff for the Palo Alto campus.

Program:

The Site Director oversees the prudent development, implementation and monitoring of the three program domains – academic, behavior and therapeutic. The Site Director is responsible for identifying areas for needed development, then sets a course of corrective action to bring that sector of the program into compliance and/or ensure best practices are implemented.

Relationships:

Externally, the Site Director is the official representative of EBC School for the Palo Alto campus and as such, is primarily the responsible party for ensuring that contracted and inquiring district relationships are collaborative and cooperative, understanding that EBC serves districts at their pleasure. Relationships are measured by maintaining a high level of communication so that sufficient districts choose to contract with EBC to maintain targeted enrollment. The Site Director communicates with Palo Alto site parents on a regular basis but only becomes personally involved when problematic issues arise that the direct service providers cannot resolve or that threaten the student’s continued educational benefit in the program.

Fiscal:

The Site Director in partnership with the CEO and CFO develops, then monitors the Palo Alto campus’s annual budget, specifically reviewing on a monthly basis through its key performance indicators (KPI’s). If negative variances appear, the Site Director develops a course of corrective action.

Administrative:

The Site Director oversees the logistical operation of the Palo Alto campus ensuring that CDE, SELPA (Master Contracts) and CHC policies and procedures are known and appropriately adhered to. While the specific and detailed oversight can fall to members of the Operation Team, the Site Director must be fully informed and aware when deviations from policy or procedures occur.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for the CHC mission and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, and commitment to ensure that EBC views all of its work through a DEIB lens
  • Strategic thinking skills to work with the Director of EBC Schools and Director of Schools
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving/conflict-resolution skills
  • Proven ability and desire to lead an inter-disciplinary school setting
  • Possess strong interpersonal and written communication skills with demonstrated sensitivity to lay and professional audiences.
  • Flexibility in scheduling appointments and punctuality in meeting all commitments
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices across the program
  • CA special education administrative license, or
  • Licensed LMFT, LCSW, Psychologist, or Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least five years’ experience as an administrator in a special education school setting
  • At least five years of direct experience working with students with social emotional skill deficits and their families
  • Continued professional development on an annual basis is expected.

Salary Range:

$125,000.00 - $140,000.00
  • The starting base pay for this position is as shown above. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
