Responsibilities
The Project Accountant will be primarily responsible for the accounting associated with various projects for Related California Residential, including but not limited to:
* Coordinate and oversee billing and invoicing activities for construction projects
* Track costs to the various projects to ensure adherence to budget
* Review weekly payroll reports for accurate job coding
* Pull monthly credit card statements and review backup provided by team
* Enter contracts and change orders into accounting system as they are received
* Work with AP on processing weekly check runs
* Perform monthly bank recs, creating prepaid and amortization schedules and booking the appropriate month end journal entries
* Work with project managers on monthly billings to ensure all costs are captured and allocated appropriately
* Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations
* Perform month end close process and preparation of Financials
* Assist with audits of construction projects
* Maintain internal controls to ensure safeguarding of company assets and adherence to company standards
* Other tasks to be assigned
Compensation
* $65,000 - $75,000/ year
* Annual performance based bonus
Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or related fields, CPA candidate preferred
* Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience, real estate development or construction experience a plus
* Highly intelligent with analytical skills and organizational skills
* Excellent Excel skills
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision
* Excellent communication skills and an effective team player
