Position Purpose:The Registered Dental Assistant will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks, including assisting the dentist during treatment procedures, administering regulatory compliance programs, providing training to auxiliary employees, and maintaining the dental supply inventory.

Position Responsibilities and Functions:

• Greet Dental Clinic patients and other clinic visitors.
• Assist in assuring that supplies for Dental Clinic supplies are in stock.

• Assist the dentist at the chair while they are engaged in any treatment of patients.
• Must anticipate dentist's needs and be prepared for next steps.
• Ensure all OSHA, Dental Board, and company policies and procedures are properly followed.
• Maintain proper patient treatment records.
• Ability to take Blood Pressure.
• Give pre and post operative instructions - within the limits designated by the dentist.
• Provide oral hygiene instructions to the patient.
• Turn on all units, switches, and water before patient sits down.
• Stocks supplies in operatories, restrooms, lab, etc. as needed.
• Performs all duties of a Sterilizer when deemed necessary.
• Ability to build good rapport with patients and staff.
• Assists in pulling and filing patient charts.
• Assists in offsite and onsite events to encourage and educate parents and children about oral health.
• Assists back office in cleaning treatment rooms.

• Other job duties may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications:

* High School diploma or GED is required

* Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant in California

* Certification for coronal polishing

* Must have current X-Ray License

* A minimum of 2-3 years of Dental front office experience

* Knowledge of dental treatments and terminology

* Great written and verbal communication skills

* Computer knowledge (i.e. Microsoft Excel)

* Dentrix Knowledge (Dental Practice Management Software)

* CPR certified

* Good communication skills

* Ability to work well with diverse populations

* Work requires long periods of sitting, reaching, speaking, hearing, seeing and ability to articulate clearly, use of hands to finger, reaching with hands and arms.

* Ability to work efficiently in a busy work environment.

* Ability to work productively in a small office space used by multiple employees.

* Ability to relate well with patients and exercise good customer service skills in person.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $26.00 per hour
