Our dental practice is currently seeking an detailed, organized and customer service oriented, Dental Receptionist for our dental office. This individual must share our Core Values and possess the ability to bring our Mission to life.

Position Purpose:
This position is expected to greet and welcome patients and visitors with courtesy and respect. Dental Receptionists assists patients in scheduling appointments and checking eligibility.

Position Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Greet Dental Clinic patients and other clinic visitors.
  • Schedule Dental Clinic appointments by phone and in person.
  • Assures appointments are appointed appropriately.
  • Assist in assuring that supplies for Dental Clinic Front Desk are in stock.
  • Assists with checking patient eligibility.
  • Assists in billing out and tracking insurance payments in Dentrix.
  • Assists in entering in patient and insurance payments.
  • Collect payments and print or write receipts for payments received.
  • Obtains required information from patients (i.e. photo ID, proof of address, insurance card,and/or Social Security card).
  • Assists patients with filling out forms.
  • Enter patient information onto Dentrix.
  • Input completed procedures onto Dentrix.
  • Review next day’s appointment charts to ensure lab cases are in, medical clearances are completed, etc.
  • Confirm appointments.
  • Work on appointments to ensure optimal flow and efficiency.
  • Monitor flow of dental patients.
  • Create Treatment Plans for patients returning for treatment.
  • Provide office support to Dental Clinic, including word processing, data input, and report generation.
  • Assists in monthly reporting and quality improvement activities.
  • Assists in filing pulling and filing patient charts.
  • Assists in offsite and onsite events to encourage and educate parents and children about dental health (i.e. AYSO, Schools, Mom's Club, etc)
  • Assists in dropping off referral cards to referring offices.
  • Assists back office in cleaning treatment rooms
  • Other job duties may be assigned as needed.

NOTE: Job duties include but are not limited to the position responsibilities and functions listed above.

Required Qualifications:
* High School diploma or GED is required
* A minimum of 1-2 years of Dental front office experience
* Knowledge of dental treatments, terminology, and insurance plans
* Strong knowledge of Billing and Treatment Case Presentation
* Great written and verbal communication skills
* Computer knowledge (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
* Dentrix Knowledge (Dental Practice Management Software)
* CPR certified
* Good communication skills
* Strong telephone skills and manners
* Ability to work well with diverse populations
* Bilingual in English and Spanish
* Work requires long periods of sitting, reaching, speaking, hearing, seeing and ability to articulate clearly, use of hands to finger, reaching with hands and arms.
*Ability to work efficiently in a busy front office.
*Ability to work productively in a small office space used by multiple employees.
*Ability to relate well with patients and exercise good customer service skills on the phone and in person.
* Knowledge on how to handle patients with PPO, POS, and HMO

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
